Jay Nepomu-who??

A Christian first, Baptist second, American third, Filipino fourth.  That being said, I’m a coconut: brown on the outside, white on the inside.  I don’t speak my native tongue, nor do I eat rice everyday.  I think sucking on a fish’s head is gross and I’ve never eaten dog (not that I’m opposed to it–I’ll try pretty much anything so long as it isn’t illegal or an organ).  I was born in the Philippines and moved to the states in pursuit of life, liberty and the American dream (at the ripe old age of seven months).  I was born again when I understood my sinful condition, realized that my ONLY hope for salvation was Jesus Christ and called upon Him to save me (that happened when I was nine!).  I grew up in “America’s Finest City”, San Diego, CA and now reside 120 miles north of my hood in the charming suburb of La Verne.  I went to college and earned the B.A. in Theology.  I went to college again and earned the Master of Theology.  I’m done with college.

I married a gorgeous girl named Brenna in 1995 and we have since done our part to replenish the earth with four lovely offspring (J.J., Jeremy, Jenna and Jason–yes, alliteration!  What can I say?  I AM a preacher).  The Lighthouse Baptist Church of La Verne is where we live, but we do manage to go to our house to sleep.  I’ve been in full-time youth ministry since 1996 and I also get to have a part in our church’s music program.  I love my family, preaching, BBQ, southern gospel, the San Diego Chargers, and chocolate.
