Jay Nepomu-who??
A Christian first, Baptist second, American third, Filipino fourth. That being said, I’m a coconut: brown on the outside, white on the inside. I don’t speak my native tongue, nor do I eat rice everyday. I think sucking on a fish’s head is gross and I’ve never eaten dog (not that I’m opposed to it–I’ll try pretty much anything so long as it isn’t illegal or an organ). I was born in the Philippines and moved to the states in pursuit of life, liberty and the American dream (at the ripe old age of seven months). I was born again when I understood my sinful condition, realized that my ONLY hope for salvation was Jesus Christ and called upon Him to save me (that happened when I was nine!). I grew up in “America’s Finest City”, San Diego, CA and now reside 120 miles north of my hood in a charming suburb east of
Los Angeles. I went to college and earned the B.A. in Theology. I went to college again and earned the Master of Theology. I’m done with college.
I married a gorgeous girl named Brenna in 1995 and we have since done our part to replenish the earth with four lovely offspring (a.k.a. BBQ Boys I, II, and III and the BBQ Princess). The Lighthouse Baptist Church of La Verne is where we live, but we do manage to go to our house to sleep. I’ve been in full-time youth ministry since 1996 and I also get to have a part in our church’s music program. I love my family, preaching, BBQ, southern gospel, the San Diego Chargers, and chocolate.
My life is very cool!
