Fave Fotos 2008-9

One of my youth ministry’s traditions is Jay’s Fave Five Fotos.  Sometimes it’s just the cool/artsy factor, sometimes it’s all about humor, and other times there’s a real neat story behind the picture.  Here are my faves of 2008-2009:

5.  Downtown San Diego skyline from Ferry’s Landing on Coronado Island.  Taken by Raphael S., it’s certainly an uber-cool shot, but it reminds me of one of the best activities I’ve ever had, “The Day With Jay 2008“.

 4.  The Ninja Jumping Pic.  These acrobatic shots became the rage during “The Day With Jay”.  We took a million or so throughout the year, but this one–taken by Ariel H. on our missions trip–is easily my favorite.

3.  Cold Stone Pot-Luck on Coronado Island.  This one is more about the moment than the actual pic.  Really one of the sweetest moments in youth group history.  Read about it at the end of the–you guessed it–”Day With Jay” post.

 2.  ATV Misery.  These two were in a pretty serious ATV accident on our missions trip.  Between them, there are three broken bones, a sprained ankle, and numerous cuts, scrapes and bruises.  But they’re smiling here, so it’s all good!

 1.  There’s a story behind this one, too, but we’ll keep that an “inside” thing.

I really love the number one pic. I kept laughing on Sat/Sun whenever I would think of it, and all the memories…like how hard we were cracking up laughing in our cabin that night we wrote the note. My stomach hurt from laughing so much. All we had to do was pass the camera around and we would start laughing again. It was awesome. lol
