Griffith and Glendale

It’s just days before Christmas and it’s a zoo out there!  People are getting their last bits of shopping done and taking advantage of the kids being out of school.  So, of course, The BBQ Family had to join the insanity.  We headed over to the Griffith Park Observatory to catch a planeterium show, but missed out on the one we had hoped to see.  Still, it is such a cool place to hang out, even though half of Los Angeles decided to hang out with us.  Shopping at the Glendale Galleria was next on the itinerary (I think the other half of L.A. was there), where we made a neat discovery.  Just east of the Galleria is an upscale outdoor shopping district called “The Americana at Brand”.  It was completely decked out for Christmas and was such a beautiful place to hang out and window shop.  Of course, we also went to Porto’s Bakery.  Twice.  We made some incredible discoveries there, which I’ll reveal at The FUNdamental Foodie shortly.

Have you been to Griffith Observatory since it re-opened? The new basement exhibits are super cool!

Down in the super cool basement, you can find out your weight on the other planets. I like Mars. I hate Jupiter.

BBQ Boys II & III strike a G.Q. pose (I have no idea where they got that from). The BBQ Princess is rather un-impressed and BBQ Boy I thinks something on the ceiling is really cool.

The "Dancing Water Fountain" at The Americana. Very nice, as long as the fountain doesn't start doing the Macarena.

Yeah, Zaz, there was a glitch in the system. I think the Y2K bug is finally hitting.
